Жанр городского фэнтези в контексте современной литературы Финляндии и России на примере романа Йоханны Синисало «Тролль» и цикла повестей «Лабиринты Ехо» Макса Фрая
Keywords: Finnish literature, fantasy, urban fantasy, city, J. Sinisalo, M. Fry
Urban space is an integral part of life and habitat for most modern people. The city leaves an imprint on a person as much as nature, but it is subject exclusively to human needs. The article examines in detail the features of Finnish and Russian urban fantasy in Johanna Sinisalo’s novel "The Troll" and Max Fry’s stories of "Labyrinths of Echo". The specificity of displaying the city in the context of the Finnish and Russian-speaking urban fantasy is studied. The main typological features uniting these works are considered. A parallel is drawn between Finnish and Russian urban fantasy, it is concluded that J. Sinisalo and M. Fry involve the reader in their works, making the urban environment a place of action. Both cities play the role of characters, forming their own attitude towards the protagonist. Both texts establish the opposition of everyday life in the city and some supernatural world awaiting to be discovered.
