The paper deals with children’s speech in the novel "Maan korvessa kulkevi" (2018) as means of revealing images of children. The goal is to define the degree of portraying children’s types and to find the reason why the author has made certain solutions while imitating the speech. The method of the research is linguistic and literary analysis of two communicative situations. As the result, it is stated, that unpolished irregular eye dialect serves to highlighting a pseudo child image of Pirjo.
