Lexicographic work is one of the most important areas of activity for researchers in the Department of Linguistic of the Institute of Linguistics, Literature and History KarRC RAS. Dictionaries related to editions of dialect lexicography played an important role in fixing the lexical possibilities of the Karelian language. The unique material of dialect dictionaries served as a platform for the creation of standardized vocabulary in dictionaries of the early-written language.
